About

I am an Associate Professor of Computer Science at University College London, working at the intersection of computer vision and deep learning, with an emphasis on 3D human understanding and weakly-supervised learning of 3D geometric representations. I'm particularly interested in methods that combine scientific rigor with practical impact, bridging academic research and real-world applications.

In industry I have held multiple roles: From 2016 to 2018, I was a Research Scientist at Facebook AI Research (FAIR). In 2018, I co-founded Ariel AI, a startup focused on on-device, full-body 3D reconstruction for augmented reality (AR). Following our acquisition by Snap Inc., I led Snap's Human3D team between 2020-2024, helping deliver full-body AR experiences to hundreds of millions of users.

Earlier, I earned my Dipl. Eng. and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from NTUA, followed by a postdoc at UCLA, and was for ten years on the faculty of the Applied Mathematics Department at École Centrale Paris .
